Snookered !!

Corringham Thameside’s “A” Snooker team met Braintree Rivers in the first round proper of the District 1240 snooker competition. Corringham’s team, consisting of Robert Waite and David Fenn lost a closely fought match by two frames to one. Corringham took the lead in the first frame, winning by over 20 points. The second frame was extremely close, with the lead changing hands several times before Braintree took it with a win on the black. Corringham hung in, on the final frame keeping to within 7 points for the majority of the frame, when Braintree’s captain, Steve Wilinson potted the green, brown and blue to take the match.
The game was played in a friendly spiritand Corringham wish their opponents every success in the next round when they will travel to play the winners of the tie between Harwich and Bishops Stortford “A”
