Purple Pinkie Week

Published by admin at 11:32 am under ALL LATEST NEWS

During the week commencing the 22nd February 2010, Rotary clubs throughout England were busy raising funds for the eradication of Polio. We were no exception, our target was to raise the weight of President Robert Waite in 2p coins. We held a collection in Corringham town centre, and although people donated coins of all denominations to add to the ammount the club had already collected on club nights a total of £344 was raised. If we calculate this using approximately £2.90 in 2p coins to be roughly equal to a kilo then we managed to raise over 118 kilos in weight. Much more than Rob’s weight which we won’t divulge. THANK YOU to everyone who contributed. Every pound donated will immunise four children from this dreadful disease.
